The Enhancer ability is used to enhance other people's abilities/make their abilities stronger simply by touching them. It is a rare ability, and Sophie is told about this on page 539 in Lodestar, and Mr. Forkle triggers the ability for her on page 542. She wears gloves as to not enhance everyone she touches.
